COVID 19 PROTOCOL
The following Protocols must be adhered to:
Absolutely no spectators. The event will be streamed live each day
All swimmers and coaches must wear their masks at all times, in the case of
swimmers, masks must be worn before entering and exiting the pool.
Teams must ensure social distancing of 6 ft is maintained while seated. Appropriate seating arrangements will be available
There must be hand sanitization and temperature check on entry
A contact information form must befilled out and signed before entering the facility.
Coaches must ensure social distancing is maintained in pool lanes during warmup and cool down sessions.
Coaches must ensure only swimmers entered to swim on the day are present
Parking at the facility car park will only be for coaches and officials.
Parents are not allowed to park or assemble at the Aquatic Center car park.
Swimmers who are sick or exhibiting flue like symptoms must stay at home.
Marshals will be stationed at the entrance to the bathroom facilities to maintain social distancing. A maximum of 5 swimmers to be allowed at any given time.
Parents will not be allowed to park or assemble on or around the Aquatic Centre during events.
All swimmers duly registered for the year 2021 with the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad & Tobago as nationals or foreigners (subject to the limitations below) are invited to take part in the National Long Course Age Group Championships 2021 scheduled to take place on February 25th to 28th 2021 at the Aquatic Center, Balmain Couva. The Quantum Timing System will be in effect. Pool specifications: 10 lane 50 meter competition pool with quantum electronic timing system and 50 meter warm down pool available.
Notes and Limitations:
A foreign swimmer may be classified as “resident foreign” upon providing proof of intended or actual residency for at least one year, and must not belong to any other Sport Country.
Status A: A resident foreign swimmer, after residing in Trinidad and Tobago for three months may participate in the Championships but may not receive awards.
Status B: A resident foreign swimmer, after residing in Trinidad and Tobago for twelve months, may participate fully in the Championships.
There will be a limit of two resident foreign swimmers in each final event.
All other foreign swimmers may participate in time final events, and are not eligible for points or awards.
The “Foreign Resident Swimmers & Foreign Swimmers Entry Form” form must be completed and submitted along with the entries.



Points will be awarded to swimmers in each event as follows:SCORING SYSTEM

1st Place
First place swimmers will be rewarded 9 points

2nd place
Second place swimmers will be rewarded 7 points

3rd Place
Third place swimmers will be rewarded 6 points

4th Place
Forth place swimmers will be rewarded 5 points

5th Place
Fifth place swimmers will be rewarded 4 points

6th Place
Sixth place swimmers will be rewarded 3 points

7th Place
Seventh place swimmers will be rewarded 2 points

8th Place
Eighth place swimmers will be rewarded 1 points
